The event photographer who already lives in Chula Vista
Corporate events, conferences, galas, and meetings anywhere in Chula Vista and the South Bay, covered by a photographer who is already here, not flying in or driving down from downtown.
Chula Vista is where I start the day
Encore Images is based in Chula Vista, which is a different thing than a company that simply lists the city as a service area. The drive to your event is minutes, not a trip up the freeway from downtown San Diego. That matters for early load-ins, last-minute add-ons, and anything that needs a second set of hands on short notice.
The South Bay, briefly
Chula Vista sits about seven miles south of downtown San Diego, close enough that it is easy to treat it as an extension of the city rather than its own market. It is not. Collins Aerospace runs a major aerostructures facility here, on the site of the old Rohr plant, and the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center trains U.S. Olympic and Paralympic athletes a short drive from where I keep my gear. Corporate events in this city have their own calendar, their own venues, and their own reasons to bring in a local photographer rather than someone driving down for the day.
The Gaylord Pacific changed the math
The Gaylord Pacific Resort & Convention Center opened on the Chula Vista Bayfront in May 2025, with 1,600 rooms and 477,000 square feet of meeting space. I have photographed Gaylord-property events more than a dozen times, so the format is familiar even in the newest building. The full rundown on that venue lives on the Gaylord Pacific photographer page. Everywhere else in Chula Vista, that same proximity applies without needing a hotel property to justify it.

What it costs
Rates are published, not quoted over email after three follow-ups. A half day of coverage, up to 4 hours, is $1,195. A full day, up to 8 hours, is $1,980, and both include a commercial license. A staffed headshot station runs $2,450 for a half day or $3,950 for a full day and moves 20 to 30 people through per hour. Full detail, including what each package covers, is on the pricing page.
Delivery, on a schedule you can plan around
Full galleries land within 24 to 48 hours of the event. If your team needs something the same night, a recap post or a slide for the next morning's session, I send a set of same-day selects before I leave the venue. That timeline holds for a single afternoon meeting and for a multi-day conference alike, and it applies across the conference venues I cover throughout San Diego, not just the ones closest to home.
Questions, answered
- Do you charge travel fees for events in Chula Vista?
- No. Chula Vista is my home base, so events anywhere in the city and the surrounding South Bay carry no travel fee and no mileage line on the invoice. That is true whether it is a small board meeting or a full conference.
- What does event coverage cost?
- Published rates: $1,195 for a half day of up to 4 hours, $1,980 for a full day of up to 8, commercial license included both times. A staffed headshot station runs $2,450 half day or $3,950 full day and moves 20 to 30 people through per hour.
- Do you shoot at the Gaylord Pacific?
- Yes. I have photographed Gaylord-property events more than a dozen times, and the Pacific, which opened on the Chula Vista Bayfront in May 2025, is the one Gaylord I can reach without an airport. It is the largest convention venue in the city by a wide margin.
- How fast are photos delivered?
- Full galleries arrive within 24 to 48 hours of the event. If you need something the same night, a recap post or a slide for the next morning's session, I send a set of same-day selects before I pack up.
- Do you cover South Bay cities around Chula Vista?
- Yes, as part of the same service area. National City, Bonita, Eastlake, Otay Ranch, and Imperial Beach are all covered without a travel fee, the same as Chula Vista proper.
